Moms Who Want Better for Their Kids

For some of us growing up, the relationship that was supposed to be the most safe, was actually the most harmful.

Complex, developmental and relational trauma or C-PTSD is what happens after chronic, repeated harms to a child from their parent, so that a child looses trust, confidence and their sense of safety.

You know you want to raise your children differently, but it’s hard and you aren’t sure where to start.

Start Here.

Emily specializes in working with moms and someday moms with C-PTSD. You may have experienced complex trauma if in your home you saw, heard or experienced:

Domestic Violence

Physical Abuse

Sexual Abuse

Neglect of Medical Care

A parent with mental illness

A parent who abused substances

A parent who abandoned the family

A joyful couple laughing together, representing inclusive couples counseling and parenting therapy for all families in Austin, TX.
A couple walking on the beach together, representing couples counseling for new parents navigating relationship changes in Austin, TX.
A gay couple embracing, representing LGBTQ+ affirming therapy and counseling for non-birthing partners and new parents in Austin, TX.

In ever relationship, there are two independent people. In couples counseling with Emily, the goal is to strengthen the friendship and connection between those two by supporting greater connection within themselves that allows for authentic and loving connection between each other.

In that way, you will learn how to avoid the pitfalls of repeated conflict and stop having the same fight over and over again. You will be able to more deeply connect with your partner, support one another through difficult times and have a happier and healthier relationship.

Meet with Emily in person or virtually, initially weekly, then every other week or monthly for maintenance. For more about Emily, click here.
