Nurtured TX is a non profit organization dedicated to connecting Texans to perinatal mental health resources. On this website you can find information about Perinatal Mental Health Disorders, information about support groups, Kristi’s List, a mental health provider directory, and the Connect to Care Program which helps postpartum mothers experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD and/or OCD access qualified mental health professionals at discounted rates. Nurtured TX is also a great resource for professionals with on-demand continuing education courses.

Description tMama Bloom offers powerful guided postpartum support groups that build community for new moms. The groups are 6 weeks, led by trained professionals and cover topics such as the transition of adding a new baby, infant care, self care, postpartum mood disorders and shifts in relationship and identity. Groups are held in person and virtually.

GALS offers a myriad of services to support birthing people including prenatal, birth and postpartum support, on call birth support, training for community birth workers and education and support for families among other things.

PSI is an international organization dedicated to raising awareness about the emotional changes women experience during pregnancy and postpartum. The vision of PSI is that every woman and family worldwide will have access to information, social support, and informed professional care to deal with mental health issues relationed to childbearing. Emily is honored to be a part of a long legacy of giving back through active participation in the community and philanthropy. She continues to take opportunities to make an impact in the communities she is a part of.
Through her private practice, she is a proud supporter of GALS and serves as a voucher provider for the Nurtured TX psychotherapy voucher program.
Emily is originally from Galveston, Texas and has served on The Harris and Eliza Kempner Fund for eight years holding the positions of Vice President, Secretary and a general board member. The Harris and Eliza Kempner Fund’s mission is to invest in the long term success, sustainability, and well-being of Galveston and is residents.
Emily also has the privilege of being a board member of the Sasser Family Foundation. As a board member she directs funds to support organizations in Austin such as Jewish Family Services and Giving Austin Labor Support. Additionally, through the Sasser Family Foundation, Emily sponsored the 2021 Perinatal Mental Health and Wellness Conference with the University of Texas Steve Hicks School of Social Work keynote speaker Dr. Dan Singley.
