Perinatal loss (normalizing miscarriage, abortion for medical reasons), fact about perinatal loss. There can be shame and grief over miscarriages and terminating a pregnancy. Some women are placed in the terrible position of having to terminate a pregnancy for medical reasons. Postpartum Anxiety (PPA) & Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Most people assume that having “Postpartum” means depression but research shows that 1 in 5 women experience postpartum anxiety.
Postpartum anxiety can look and feel like constant worrying about the the baby’s weight or milk consumption. Some women with postpartum anxiety have racing and intrusive thoughts. It can also feel like irritability and rage and an inability to sleep. Some anxiety through the transition into motherhood or bringing home a new baby is normal. However, if the worry, intrusive thoughts and irritability are constant and you are not sleeping, it is time to get help.
PPA is treatable. I specialize in working with people experiencing anxiety. I can help you understand what is happening to you, bring relief and connect you to more resources that will help.
Parenting young children: there is so much pressure on parents today. On avg parents spend x amount of time and money on their children today. Often, parenting young children teaches you about yourself - you have less patience than you expected, it’s more difficult than expected and you remind yourself of the things you didn’t like in your parents. But this time is fleeting, only one portion of your life. I help parents feel more confident about themselves. With 5 years of experience working with children, parent coaching and being a mother to twins, I can relate to all parents’ stories. I specialize in working with parents to decrease anxiety, feelings of overwhelm and increase their sense of confidence and ability to remain calm when your child pushes your buttons. I also help parents with how to communicate and set better boundaries with children.
